Black Sheep Wall: "Personal Prophet"
This has gotta be about the heaviest shit going in sludge metal right now. Four years after their largely overlooked debut album, Black Sheep Wall - who seem to be named after an old Innocence Mission song from what I can tell, though if so I'm not seeing a kindred musical spirit there - re-emerge with one of the most powerful records of the year, the expansive (read: lengthy) masterpiece No Matter Where It Ends. No singles released as of yet so I picked my personal fave, the reasonably accessible "Personal Prophet".
