Dylan Beale - Tri-Fusion X J-Wing (Sirpixalot Dubplate Acapella)

Only recently becoming familiar with Sirpixalot but apparently this cat has a regular show on Radar Radio and is a regular fixture on UK dance programs. This particular track has Sirpix combining J-Wing's "Dublate Acapella" and Dylan Beale's "Tri-Fusion" instrumentals with the  Radar Radio DJ/Producer rhyming over top. The whole thing is sampled from an old Wolverine game (Adamantium Rage) from 1994. Level up, bitches.

Stormzy: "Shut Up"

I'm always deeply appreciative when MCs step outside the usual funk/R&B comfort zone when sampling, so when grime up-and-comer Stormzy decides to freestyle over an old, bucolic XTC track you best bet I'm paying attention. The London MC goes in hard given the languid nature of the backing track, but somehow makes it work seamlessly.

Tre Mission: "Brunch / High Fashion"

There is a finite amount of flow out there - hell, even Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt sound alike to me and both of those guys are geniuses (genii?) - but don't tell that shit to Tre Mission. I've always appreciated rappers who can craft singsong choruses without roping in generic R&B singers to pull it off (see also: Homeboy Sandman).

This video is labeled simply "Brunch" although it clearly shifts into a completely different track midway through. The back half would be "High Fashion", which joined "Brunch" on Tre's recent Malmaison mixtape and will represent the double-AA side to his debut single on Big Dada.

[EDIT 9/2/13: yup, the versions of both songs in the video are heavily abridged. Here are the full length versions from Tre's Soundcloud]:

Slackk: "Shogun Assassin"

This would have made an apropos inclusion to Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill soundtrack, but it stands alone as a bombastic techno tune with a martial underscore.

Terror Danjah: "Dark Crawler" [feat. Riko Dan]

This video ought to come with an epilepsy warning. Riko Dan postures through superimposed fractals that will throw spots up in front of your eyes. That's actually all I can type right now. I don't know much else about this release anyway. Enjoy.

Wiley: "Evolve or Be Extinct"

Newcomers may have a hard time audibly distinguishing between Dizzee Rascal and Wiley, which is understandable... both have similar flow and both are lynchpins in the UK Grime scene. Somehow along the way, though, Wiley has been relegated to operating out of Dizzee's shadow, D.R. becoming the international face of Grime. Evolve or Be Extinct should change that any second now. There are a couple of misplaced, wannabe club bangers on there - de rigueur on any hip hop album these days - but for the most part it's a collection of inspired tracks, here playful and feisty, there thoughtful and on the conscious tip.

This viddy for the title track ought to get you sorted.

Wiley, Flowdan, Riko & Manga: "F Off"

Few Americans know what's going on in the UK grime scene outside of Dizzee Rascal, but then most Americans don't listen to quality rap stateside either so no surprise there.  Wiley was right back there with Dizzee at the beginning of grime as it was emerging out of the UK garage scene. He founded the collective Roll Deep in 2002, of which the other three MCs on this track are also either current or former members.

"F Off" is as close as hip hop gets to a straight up drum circle, although the biting snap of each MC's flow doesn't lend itself to the kind of laid back vibe of hippies playing hackey sack.  That free download can be obtained here.
